Mark L. Trinko

Mark L. Trinko, age 63, of Shawano, peacefully went to be with his mom and Lord and Savior on Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home.
Mark was born June 20, 1963, in Shawano, Wisconsin, the son of the late Lee and Rita (Reinke) Trinko. He attended Shawano High School, graduating with the Class of 1981. Following high school, he attended Silver Lake College, where he studied music for several years.
After college, Mark began his career at Quigley Printing and later worked for several newspaper companies. He retired after 15 years as a classified ad layout designer for Lima News. Following his retirement from the newspaper industry, Mark devoted himself fully to the career he cherished most – music. A gifted organist and dedicated teacher, he served at several churches and schools, including 15 years at Trinity United Methodist in Lima, Ohio, St. Rose Catholic Church and School in Lima, Ohio, St. John Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio, and St. Johns United Church of Christ in Defiance, Ohio. Mark was an office assistant for Encore Theater and also played piano in several of their shows. He taught music at Sherwood High School and later concluded his music career at First Lutheran Church in Stryker, Ohio, where he served as organist. Following his retirement, Mark and his wife, Mary, returned to Shawano.
On July 6, 1996, Mark was united in marriage to the former Mary Callaway in Lima, Ohio. Together, they enjoyed going on car ride adventures and recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Mark had a lifelong passion for music. Whether teaching students, playing the organ, or sharing his talents with others, music was at the heart of his life. When he wasn’t making music, he enjoyed spending time on his computer, relaxing around a campfire, playing a game of Sheepshead, or cracking open a cold beer. He also had a special love for the dogs that shared his life over the years, especially his faithful companion, Smokey. Above all else, Mark treasured his family, who were the center of his life.
Mark was a member of the American Guild of Organists and a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Trinko; his faithful companion, Smokey; children, Nicole (Matt) Larson of Pardeeville, Wisconsin, Michael LaReau of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Andrew (Britney) Trinko of Ayersville, Ohio, and Brandon Trinko of Illinois; ten grandchildren, Jared, Caleb, Avrie, Harlow, Rowan, Xander, Jaxon, Lucas, Theo, and Michael; and four great-grandchildren with one on the way. Mark is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Mark L. Trinko will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda. Vicar Carolyn Jolitz will officiate. Visitation will begin at the church on Saturday at 9:00 am and continue until the time of service.
