After working for his family’s business since his early teenage years, 21-year-old Parker Perry, a Bonduel native, quickly became one of the area’s youngest business owners.
His father, Henry Perry, started Perry Seamless Gutters in 2000 after noticing the need for gutter services in the area as well as the need for leaf guards for the gutters. Shortly after Henry started the business, his mother, Windy, joined the business.
“I was eager to work as soon as I could and worked multiple years in the work truck underneath crew leaders,” he said. “Once I got my license, I ran my own crew. The summer when I was 16, I was bouncing between being a crew leader and starting to do customer quotes. The summer after that, going into my senior year of high school, I was arranging work schedules for the crews, doing all the customer quotes and estimates, answering all phone calls and doing office work such as material orders and payroll.”
In 2023, Parker graduated from high school and took on a bigger role with the company. “Straight out of school, I was basically running the business,” he said. “With guidance from my parents, I was able to take their knowledge and fuse it with my work ambition. In early 2024, my parents took a big step back from the business, giving me a larger workload yet. This was my test.”
On Jan. 1, 2025, he purchased Perry Seamless Gutters from his parents along with the business and equipment. He also bought the house he grew up in from them.
“Knowing I held my future in my own hands, I wasted no time,” he said. “An average day for me is usually about 12 hours — sometimes even 15 hours. I started offering more products and services and started doing same-day or next-day estimates.”
With two different work crews doing gutter installation, Parker started to offer fascia-board replacement. “A lot of times we run into jobs where the wood board that the gutter fastens to is rotted,” he said. “We let the homeowner know right away instead of installing gutters on soft wood. I also started offering soffit and fascia installation because gutters, downspouts, soffit and fascia and fascia board all go hand-in-hand with each other.”
He also started offering more leaf-guard options and started installing snow stops because of the harsh Wisconsin winters and the fast-growing number of steel roofs. The snow stops, he said, slow the snow and protect the gutters from damage.
He said his father found that over half his work was from cleaning gutters and heard bad stories about how homeowners hurt themselves on ladders or even fell off roofs while cleaning their gutters.
Perry Seamless Gutters is the authorized dealer for the Gutter Cap brand of gutter protection, and according to Parker, is the only company with that brand that services Northeast and Northcentral Wisconsin.
The company offers 5-inch and 6-inch gutters, eight different styles of gutter protection and multiple different styles of snow bars. It also has a variety of Gutter Cap color options including a stone-coated leaf guard that matches the exact color of a shingle roof.
While regular rain gutters found in stores are pre-cut pieces joined together by connectors and sealant, seamless gutters are custom-formed with precise measurements on-site from a single continuous piece of metal.
That gives them an advantage over sectional gutters that can leak over time because the sealant at their joints breaks down from weather and water flow. Seamless gutters only have joints at corners and downspouts, which reduces leaks.
Becoming a business owner at such a young age was a challenge, Parker said, because he was usually the youngest person in a room of contractors.
“With my parents having been in the business for more than 25 years, though, I have great support and resources with them,” he said. “The biggest challenges today are gas prices and the market is always changing.”
Being active in the community is important to Perry Seamless Gutters.
“Just recently, we hosted and sponsored a tornado-relief drive for the devastation in Menasha,” Parker said. “We also advertise for Bonduel sports and give donations to various causes. I also serve as head coach for the Bonduel Middle School football team. This is my fourth year.”
He hopes to eventually expand and have more crews and offer more services.
“We have been around for almost 27 years now, and plan on staying around,” Parker said.
