Carol Jean Zeitler

Carol Jean Zeitler, age 88, of Shawano, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Carol was born on January 15, 1938, in Milwaukee to Frank and Mary Redjinski of Suring. She graduated from Suring High School in 1955 and, after graduation, moved to Milwaukee, where she met and married Francis “Ike” Zeitler.
Together, Carol and Ike built a life centered around family, hard work, and making memories. Together they raised their three children, Mark, Craig, and Jeni. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her family.
Carol had many passions throughout her life. She loved gardening, baking, and cooking, and always enjoyed organizing a great party. She enjoyed taking walks, traveling to Florida, and spent many years wintering in Fort Myers, where she and Ike had a place. She also owned a laundromat in Cecil for a time. Carol was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packers fan and a proud “bleacher mom,” always cheering on and supporting her kids.
In their younger years, Carol and Ike were well known for “The Pond,” where they hosted years of parties, gatherings, and unforgettable memories for friends and family from across Shawano County. For many, The Pond was a special place filled with laughter, friendship, and good times. Carol always loved making family traditions, including Sunday snowmobiling, rafting down the Oconto River, family pond parties, and making any special day or holiday memorable.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Redjinski; her brother, Charlie Redjinski; and her husband, Francis “Ike” Zeitler.
She is survived by her three children, Mark Zeitler (Laurie), Craig Zeitler (Chun Hui), and Jeni Luebeck (Chris); her grandchildren, Zeke, Megghan, Molly, Hunter, Eddie, Sarah, Mary, and Alexis; as well as five great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Chaplin Josh Viste officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shawano Place and Moments Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
