After decades of helping others as a nurse, Sheila Landon opened Radiance Medical Aesthetics in Shawano.

For nearly three decades, Sheila Landon dedicated her career to caring for others — whether helping critically ill patients in the emergency room, guiding families through diabetes management or volunteering in the community, her passion, she said, has always centered on improving people’s lives.
“Now, as the owner of Radiance Medical Aesthetics, I am helping patients in a different way — by restoring confidence, promoting healthy skin and helping people feel their very best,” she said.
A lifelong Shawano resident, Landon graduated from Shawano Community High School in 1996. During her junior year, she became one of the first students to participate in what is now known as the Wolf River Youth Apprenticeship Program, launching her healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant at Evergreen Care Center.
“I knew at a young age that I wanted to care for people,” Landon said. “That apprenticeship gave me an incredible opportunity to begin my nursing journey right here in Shawano.”
After high school, she attended Bellin College of Nursing, earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She began her career in the cardiac care unit at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, caring for patients recovering from open-heart surgery.
“Those years taught me so much,” she said. “Watching patients recover after major surgery and being part of that healing process was incredibly rewarding.”
Wanting to expand her role in patient care, Landon returned to school and earned her master’s degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
Since 2003, she has served the Shawano community in ThedaCare’s Emergency Department where she continues to work as a nurse practitioner as needed. Along the way, she also spent two years practicing in endocrinology and diabetes care with Affinity Health in Appleton and Neenah, specializing in pediatric diabetes and insulin-pump therapy while caring for adults living with diabetes.
One patient continues to stand out in her memory.
“I had the privilege of coordinating care for a gentleman from Shawano with Type 1 diabetes who ultimately received a pancreas transplant,” she said. “Today, more than 14 years later, he’s living free from diabetes. Being part of that journey remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”
Last fall, Landon took another step in her professional journey by opening Radiance Medical Aesthetics. She initially welcomed patients in a private suite inside Fresh Face Co. in downtown Shawano before relocating this spring to her location inside Cornerstone Chiropractic & Wellness at 153 S. Main Street.
Opening her own business had been a longtime dream.
“I’ve always wanted to build something that reflected who I am as both a healthcare provider and a person,” she said. “Radiance Medical Aesthetics allows me to combine my medical knowledge, attention to detail and passion for helping people feel confident.”
Radiance Medical Aesthetics offers Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers, Sculptra, SkinPen microneedling, chemical peels and customized medical-grade skincare. Every treatment begins with a consultation, allowing patients to discuss their goals and receive an individualized treatment plan.
While many people associate aesthetic medicine with cosmetic enhancements, Landon believes it is equally about skin health, confidence and prevention.
“My philosophy is to enhance — not change — what makes each person unique,” she said. “The best results are natural. I want my patients to look refreshed, healthy and like the best version of themselves.”
She believes patients appreciate the time and education they receive during every visit. “I believe informed patients make the best decisions and I place a strong emphasis on safety, anatomy and continuing education,” she said.
Radiance Medical Aesthetics welcomes both women and men of all adult ages. While cosmetic injections are reserved for appropriate candidates, many patients also visit for professional skincare recommendations and treatments to improve skin health, acne, pigmentation, sun damage and signs of aging.
As the practice continues to grow, Landon remains its sole provider, allowing her to personally care for every patient who walks through the door.
Landon also enjoys giving back to the community as president of the Shawano Boys Hoops Club, where she volunteers countless hours supporting local youth basketball programs.
Whether she’s treating patients in the emergency room, volunteering with local athletics or helping someone feel more confident through aesthetic medicine, Landon said her mission has always remained the same.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to serve the community that raised me,” she said. “Shawano has always been home. It’s an honor to care for the people who have supported me throughout my life and career.”
