Nadine Steege

Nadine Steege, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Shawano Place Senior Living. Nadine was born on June 26, 1931, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to late August and Artie (Sullivan) Giessel. She graduated from Bowler High School in 1950. On June 10, 1950, Nadine was united in marriage to Elden Steege at Salem United Methodist Church. Together the couple had a wonderful 64 years together before Elden’s passing in 2015. She worked at the glove factory for many years before she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm. Nadine spent her retirement in Arkansas for years before returning to Wisconsin. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, rosemaling, knitting and baking and everyone will miss her three-layer bars.
Nadine is survived by her son, Clayton (Kathy) Steege and Curt (Vicki) Steege; grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew, Corey, Adam and Farrah; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Charlotte, Ava, Harper, William, Braelyn and Adalita; and siblings, Bessie Wiskow, Doris (Wayne) Jeske and Kenneth (Lisa) Giessel. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Elden Steege; four brothers Merton, O’ Neil, Gerold, and Lyndal; as well as her parents, August and Artie Giessel.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano, with Pastor Kim officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
