David D. Tetting

David “Dave” Tetting age 54 of Appleton passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at his sister’s home from pancreatic cancer.
Dave was born in Shawano on November 14, 1971, the son of Daniel and Margie (Krause) Tetting. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1990. He worked as a welder in the area until moving to Appleton four years ago. He most recently worked at Lowe’s in Kimberly, until illness prevented him from continuing.
Dave loved to play golf, shoot pool, and watch the Packers. He was an excellent cook, especially on the grill – his Thanksgiving turkey was legendary. Every year he looked forward to opening day trout fishing at McCauslin Brook and camping at “The Turn” (his happy place). Dave also had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and a special talent for storytelling and playful pranks.
Dave will be deeply missed by his daughters, Meghan and Malia Tetting of Shawano; his sister Danette (Mike) Locke; two nephews Alex (Brooklyn) and Zach Locke; his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and special friend Mara Richter and her daughter Aria. His passing follows that of his maternal grandparents Victor and Audrey Krause, and his paternal grandparents Williard and Grace Tetting.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Shawano Lake Golf Course on Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 1pm until 4pm.
The family is deeply grateful to the ThedaCare Hospice nurses for the compassionate care they gave Dave in his final weeks.
